Panthers cut DT Edwards

Panthers DT Ron Edwards suffered a dislocated elbow in Monday night’s win over the Eagles and will miss the rest of the season, head coach Ron Rivera said Tuesday.

The team has not placed Edwards on injured reserve yet, but he will be out for the remainder of the year.

The 12th-year veteran has started all 11 games and has 14 tackles and one sack. He spent the previous five seasons with the Chiefs before signing with Carolina after the 2010 season. Edwards missed all of 2011 with a triceps injury.
