Domingos Paciencia has left his post as Deportivo La Coruna coach by mutual consent after just six weeks in charge of the Galician outfit.
The Riazor club currently sits at the bottom of La Liga, six points from safety, and Fernando Vazquez will oversee its bid to stay in the top flight. Vazquez has previously taken local rival Celta de Vigo to the UEFA Cup, and he steps in for Paciencia, who is out after replacing the fired Jose Oltra on Dec. 31.
"Something has to change, and if that means me leaving, I will do what the club want," Pacienc9a told reporters after Saturday's 3-0 home loss to Granada. "The situation is not easy, and I am worried about Depor."
Deportivo has lost its last four Liga mathces, and has won just once since the beginning of November.
