Pablo Sandoval: (Elbow) Improving, "Determined" To Start On Opening Day

Update: Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Sandoval's elbow was much better Monday and he throw in a couple days, Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com reports. Bochy added that Sandoval is "determined" to start on Opening Day.

Recommendation: Sandoval may be determined, but he's far from a lock to be ready to start the year. He tried to throw Sunday but was shut down after feeling pain in the elbow, and considering the types of throws Sandoval would need to make from third base, it seems likely he sits until he's able to throw with strength and accuracy. Still, the 26-year-old is moving in the right direction.
