Drew Brees passed for multiple touchdowns, leading the way to a sound victory for the Saints over the Bills, 35-17, at home.
An exceptional performance for Brees was capped by five touchdowns on 26 of 34 passing for 332 yards and no interceptions. On the Bills side, Thaddeus Lewis did not have as good a day, going 22 of 39 with 234 yards passing, one touchdown, one pick and two fumbles.
Pierre Thomas ran for 65 yards on 14 carries in addition to three receptions for 29 yards. Kenny Stills was a highlight, pulling in three balls for 129 yards with two touchdowns.
The New Orleans defensive unit led the way to a victory, giving up 88 yards rushing and 211 passing. They terrorized Lewis and the Bills offensive line with four sacks.
Bills tight end Scott Chandler had a big day with 72 receiving yards. Wide receiver Stevie Johnson also had a good game with 72 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Saints head to East Rutherford next week to face the Jets (4-3) while the Bills host the Chiefs (8-0).
