Marques Colston had a big day, but it wasn't enough to avoid a tough loss for the Saints against the Rams, 27-16, in St. Louis.
Drew Brees put together a solid 39 for 56 effort with 393 yards passing, two touchdowns (1 pass, 1 rush), two picks and one fumble. Kellen Clemens ended up going 14 of 20 with 158 yards passing, two touchdowns and no interceptions for the Rams.
Pierre Thomas rushed for 21 yards on eight carries and had seven receptions for 62 yards. Colston was a highlight, catching eight passes for 92 yards with a touchdown.
The New Orleans defense gave up 144 yards rushing and 158 passing.
Rams running back Zac Stacy was impressive, racking up 133 yards rushing and one touchdown. Tight end Cory Harkey also had a good game with 29 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Saints travel to Charlotte next week to meet the Panthers (10-4) while the Rams are at home to take on the Buccaneers (4-10).
