The Baltimore Orioles are hoping to continue their surprising success of 2012 by extending the contracts of manager Buck Showalter and vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette through the 2018 season. Showalter's extension adds five years to a contract that had been set to expire after the 2013 season. Showalter, 56, is 196-185 since taking over as Baltimore's manager on Aug. 2, 2010. Duquette was hired in November 2011 with a three-year deal that would have expired at the end of 2014. He had four years added to his contract. Showalter and Duquette helped produce a 93-win season for the Orioles, who made it to the postseason for the first time since 1997.
