    Oregon State loses two players

Sophomore Eric Moreland and freshman Victor Robbins were suspended Thursday by Oregon State and and sat out the Beavers' 72-62 Pac-12 loss to Arizona State in Corvallis, Ore.

Coach Craig Robinson didn't elaborate on the reasons for the suspensions but said Moreland and Robbins will continue to practice with the team and hopefully be eligible to return.

"We'll just say suspended for now and we'll find out exactly how long they're suspended for violation of team rules," Robinson said after the game. "I wish they weren't, but life happens to these young guys."

The problem came to light just before game time, Robinson said.

"It's a big letdown when it's a player like Eric, who is a big part of the production of the team," Robinson said.

Moreland is a major loss for Oregon State (10-5). He is averaging 10.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game this season. Robbins has seen limited playing time.
