Old teammates Bryant, O'Neill mend fences

Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal were not best buds when they played together in Los Angeles. But the two apparently have let bygones be bygones.

The former Lakers teammates are getting along now, according to Bryant. O'Neill sat courtside during the Lakers' 91-85 win over Phoenix on Tuesday night in L.A. and the two talked before the game.

"It was good to see him," Bryant said. "Shaq and I have a really, really good relationship now. It's good. I think it's a good lesson for all of us."

Bryant and Shaq won three straight NBA championships together from 2000 to 2002.

"I think we appreciate each other more now than ever," Bryant said, according to ESPN.com. "I think the further you get away from the history that you had together, the more you put perspective on it on how dominant we were.

"It's fun for us to kind of get together again and kind of reminisce on some of the old stories."

O'Neal, a perennial All-Star, will have his jersey retired by the Lakers on April 2 at halftime of a game against Dallas.
