Oklahoma 35, Iowa State 20

AMES, Iowa -- Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones got picked off twice by the same Iowa State defensive back and still led his Sooners to a win.

No. 12 Oklahoma beat Iowa State 35-20 for its sixth win of the season.

Oklahoma running back Brennan Clay helped the Sooners on the ground since the Sooners usual starter Damien Williams was limited due to an ankle injury he sustained in Oklahoma's previous game.

In the third quarter, Brennan Clay compiled 23 yards on a drive before breaking for an 18-yard rush into the end zone for his fourth touchdown of the year.

Clay got his first start since Sept. 2011. Clay came into the game with 30 carries for 220 yards. He finished the day with 24 carries for 157 yards.

Jones made completions to nine different receivers -- including seven passes for 107 yards to Justin Brown, who led all receivers.

However, Oklahoma's gunslinger had a few other close calls that didn't go his way. Jones threw one ball and had another one tipped into the arms of Cyclones' Durrell Givens.

Givens broke tackles and cut from the far west sideline to the middle of the field to take the ball 47 yards to the 15-yard line. Iowa State quarterback's quarterback Steele Jantz, however, couldn't get a completion on the drive and the Cyclones settled for a field goal to put them on the board.

Jantez finished the day going 20 for 40 for 191 yards.

In the third quarter, Jones threw a pass 20 yards to the end zone toward Justin Brown. Iowa State's Jeremy Reeves tipped it and it landed in Brown's arms for an Oklahoma touchdown.

On the next drive, Cyclones' Jarvis West got the pitch off a reverse. The sophomore wide receiver took the ball to the left before diving into the end zone for ISU's first touchdown.

Iowa State got another touchdown late in the fourth quarter on a 2-yard run.

Oklahoma also continued to score in the fourth. Jones completed to junior wide receiver Kenny Stills for the wide receiver's second touchdown.

The Sooners snapped the ball almost twice as many times as the Cyclones and finished with almost 600 yards of offense.
