'Office Christmas Party' Trailer: Naughty But Nice

By Hilary Lewis, The Hollywood Reporter

“We should celebrate, they said. Just a little get-together for the employees. Have a few drinks, blow off a little steam, nothing crazy.”

Those comments from Jason Bateman kick off the trailer for Paramount’s upcoming comedy Office Christmas Party. The voiceover about the planned small “get-together” are said over a collection of images of destruction from the night before, including a large pile that appears to have been set on fire, broken windows, and two flaming Christmas trees barreling towards each other.

The trailer then flashes back to the day of the party as Jennifer Aniston’s boss learns of their planned mixer, via a “sample cheese board” presented by Kate McKinnon’s character.

“Not happening,” she says of their planned party.

Another employee, played by T.J. Miller, insists the celebration is canceled, but then winks at McKinnon’s character.

“Hey, idiot, I’m looking right at you,” Aniston’s boss says.

The next thing viewers see is Miller, donning a Santa costume, sliding down the stairs into some holiday decorations as a rapid-fire montage, including a scene of Bateman’s character stumbling across a reindeer drinking out of the toilet, illustrates the party getting wilder.

Office Christmas Party, directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, co-stars Rob Corddry, Olivia Munn, Jillian Bell, and Courtney B. Vance.

The Paramount film — written by Jon Lucas, Scott Moore, Justin Malen, and Laura Solon — hits theaters Dec. 9.
