For a team that showed so much promise at the beginning of the season, the second half has been nothing but a disappointment. The remainder of the season will be brutal and if the Tribe continues to play the caliber of baseball they have been, a 100-loss season is a possibility. If that were to happen, jobs once considered safe may be on the line after all.
In an effort to stop the four-game losing streak the Indians will send their "ace" Justin Masterson to the hill. Chances are his remaining outings will be nothing short of an audition for other teams as the front office gears up for a major overhaul during the offseason. Masterson, along with Shin-Soo Choo and Chris Perez could be shopped around in an effort to re-tool the upper-levels of the farm system to once again contend in a few years. It is a sad reality Indians' fans will be forced to endure.
The Cleveland Indians will take on the Oakland Athletics at Progressive Field located in Cleveland, Ohio on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 12:05 p.m. EDT.
