O.J. Mayo: Agrees to Sign With Mavs
Update: Mayo agreed in principle to sign with the Mavericks, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Recommendation: Mayo was not given a qualifying offer by the Grizzlies, making him an unrestricted free agent and free to sign with the team of his choosing this offseason. Through four seasons in the NBA, Mayo has averaged 15.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.6 three-pointers in 33 minutes per game. After two very encouraging seasons as a starter, Mayo saw his role on the Grizzlies reduced under coach Lionel Hollins over the last two seasons. He should be the starter at shooting guard for the Mavs, but it'll be difficult to project exactly how large of a role he'll have until the team's roster rounds out and we get a look at how he'll be used. At just 24 years old, Mayo still has a lot of upside. How much he'll be asked to do on offense for the Mavs will depend on if the team asks him to start at shooting guard or take over the sixth-man role Jason Terry previously filled on the team. Either way, he should be useful in most fantasy leagues next s! eason.
