While Carmelo Anthony(notes) continues to tell confidants he's hopeful he'll be traded to the New York Knicks, the Denver Nuggets continue to evaluate offers from both the Knicks and the New Jersey Nets, an NBA source with knowledge of the negotiations said on Sunday.
The source said a deal isn't expected to be made on Sunday, but this much is clear: The Nuggets are resolved to move Anthony and don't have plans to keep him past Thursday's 3 p.m. deadline.
One source close to Anthony said he expects the negotiations to drag on until the deadline.
The Nuggets appear to prefer the Nets' offer, which includes rookie forward Derrick Favors(notes) and four first-round draft picks, but Anthony has given no indication of wanting to sign the three-year, $65 million extension with New Jersey – before or after meeting with owner Mikhail Prokhorov and other team officials on Saturday.
