Nowitzki to sit out second straight game

Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki will miss his second game in two nights when the Mavericks face Phoenix on Friday night, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

The All-Star sat out Thursday night's loss to Golden State with a strained right adductor muscle, which he injured in Tuesday night's game against Portland. The adductor connects the hip to the top of the thigh muscle.

It's uncertain when Nowitzki will return to the lineup.

"I guess it's just Father Time, bro'. Stuff happens," Nowitzki said, according to the Star-Telegram. "I've never pulled a muscle my whole career, so I guess there's always a first one."
