Norwich City edged away from the relegation zone and climbed up to 13th in the Premier League table after seeing off Sunderland 2-0 at Carrow Road.
The Canaries produced an impressive first-half display and were rewarded as Robert Snodgrass opened the scoring on 20 minutes for his side, before Alexander Tettey doubled their lead 12 minutes later with a stunning strike.
Despite making a number of changes, Sunderland were unable to mount a second-half comeback and had Marcos Alonso sent off, with Norwich holding on to claim a vital victory to move them seven points clear of the bottom three.
