FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- - Marshall Bjorklund scored 12 points in just 14 minutes of action to lead North Dakota State to an 86-43 win over Valley City State Monday night.
The Bison (5-3) jumped out to a 24-5 lead with 12:00 left in the first half and the Vikings used back-to-back 3-pointers by A.J. McDonald and Jeremy Ware cut the North Dakota State lead to 15 with just under 6 minutes later, but VCSU wouldn't get any closer.
NDSU took a 41-20 lead into the break and opened the second half with an 18-3 run, including three consecutive 3-pointers by Lawrence Alexander.
The game served as an exhibition for VCSU (1-7), which hit just 15 of 51 field goals and 8 of 28 3-pointers. The Vikings were out-rebounded 40-24.
Alexander hit 3 of 5 3-pointers and finished with 11 points in the win. Carlin Dupree added 12 points and Mike Felt had 10.
