Pendarvis Williams and Malcolm Hawkins both continued their individual hot streaks as Norfolk State turned back Howard 50-43 on Monday to post its fourth straight win. Williams scored 16 points and Hawkins had 11 as the Spartans (9-10, 3-0) stayed undefeated in the MEAC. It marked the eighth time in a nine-game span that Williams reached double digits. Hawkins, meanwhile, had tallied 46 total points in his previous three games while making 9 of 17 shots from 3-point range. Brandon Goode contributed 12 points for Norfolk State, which never trailed in this game. The Spartans limited Howard to just a single made field goal in the first 10 minutes of the game while building an early 15-4 lead. The Bison trailed the rest of the way and lost to Norfolk State for the seventh consecutive time. Prince Okoroh scored 12 points and Tre Lee added 10 for Howard (4-13, 1-3). Norfolk State's schedule has been pretty brutal up until now -- this marked the Spartans' 16th game away from home in the first 19 games of the season. However, the Spartans play eight of their final 12 at home. Good news, as Norfolk State tries to chase the MEAC title and secure a second consecutive berth in the NCAA tournament.
