LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane has ruled out a loan return to the Premier League, citing his need to recover from injury problems ahead of the new Major League Soccer season in March.
The striker spent January and February of the 2011-12 season on loan at Aston Villa, scoring three goals in seven appearances for the Premier League side during the MLS offseason.
However, the 32-year-old believes he should remain in the United States after an extended period of football, suggesting he needs a break to be in peak condition for Galaxy in light of reported interest from QPR.
"It's been a long season, with the Euros and what have you," he told Sky Sports. "I've a few little niggles that need to be sorted out so I don't think at this moment in time it would be right for me to go anywhere.
He added, "I had another year left and [Galaxy] offered me a new contract at the end of last season. I've just signed a new two-year contract."
The striker has scored 180 goals in league 476 appearances in England, Italy, Scotland and the United States.
