NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- Damon Lynn scored 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting and Tim Coleman added 13 with eight rebounds as New Jersey Institute of Technology rolled past Maine-Fort Kent 84-45 Wednesday night.
The Highlanders (11-15) shot 57.6 percent from the field and outrebounded Maine-Fort Kent 39-18.Odera Nweke had 11 points and seven rebounds, while Montana Mayfield dished out seven assists. All 11 players that saw action for NJIT scored.
Maine-Fort Kent, which is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), was held to just 13-of-42 shooting (31 percent) and committed 19 turnovers. James Givens led Maine-Fort Kent with 16 points on 5-of-15 shooting and Mauro Vicic chipped in 10.
NJIT used a 15-0 surge spanning over six minutes in the first half to move out to a 34-12 lead. They led 52-23 at halftime and coasted in the second half.
