Jameer Nelson finished with 16 points and recorded 12 assists and 6 rebounds in an impressive all-around performance to lead the Orlando Magic to a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, 101-90. Orlando (18-42) gets one in the win column after losing to Washington on Tuesday.
Nelson finished 7-16, including 2-6 from three-point range. Other top performers for Orlando were Nikola Vucevic with 21 points and 13 rebounds, Victor Oladipo with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Tobias Harris with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Despite the loss, Thaddeus Young scored 19 points for Philadelphia on 7-18 shooting.
In addition to 22.7% from 3-point range, the 76ers tallied an eFG% of just 39.7%. They are 1-16 on the season when registering marks below 30% and 45%, respectively, in those statistics. The Magic, conversely, are 7-3 when holding the opposition to such dismal shooting numbers.
Philadelphia (15-43) has now dropped their last 12 straight games.
Coming up next, the Magic square off against the Miami Heat, who are 40-14 on the year. The 76ers match up with the Washington Wizards, currently 29-28 this season. The Magic came up short against Miami each of the last three times they've met. The 76ers have lost to Washington the last two times they have played.
