Where in the world is Nick Diaz? Everyone kind of laughed when that was the main headline on a recent episode of UFC 183 Embedded, where Diaz missed his scheduled flight to Las Vegas for his fight with Anderson Silva.

Embedded is a UFC behind-the-scenes web series that serves as promotion for its events.

But now, a day later, everyone really is asking, where is Nick Diaz, after he still hadn’t shown up as of Wednesday's UFC 183 open workouts.

When he missed his flight as shown in the Embedded episode, his agent, Lloyd Pierson, told MMAFighting that it was all just spin, so much smoke and mirrors.

“This isn't the old Nick not showing up,” Pierson said. “There were some logistical issues. Everything is on schedule now. Everyone knew what was going on.”

But that’s certainly not how things appeared when Diaz hadn’t yet appeared in Las Vegas for the open workouts, where a UFC representative confirmed that he wouldn’t be there and that, as of the workouts, Diaz was confirmed as not having arrived in Las Vegas.

UFC president Dana White also fanned the flames during his Wednesday appearance on The Jim Rome Show, saying, “Nick is being Nick. We don't know where Nick is.”

He explained how Diaz was supposed to have been available at a team dinner for the UFC 183 Embedded filming, but was a no-show, and then missed his flight. White went on to add that not only did Diaz miss his flight, the UFC booked him a second flight, and he missed that one as well.

White has let such Diazisms drive him crazy in the past, but seems to be handling it much more calmly this time around. In fact, White went so far as to blame himself, since he booked Diaz in another main event knowing that Diaz tends to operate on his own schedule.

“The problem is this, it's too late,” White said. “I already made the fight. There’s a lot of things (Diaz) doesn't show up for, but he always shows up for the fights, so I'm counting on him showing up.

“I did it to myself again. I made a fight with Nick Diaz, a big main event fight. I did it to myself. So I can't sit here and cry about Nick Diaz. It's Nick being Nick.”
