Nick Cannon Does ‘Hard’ Exercise Against Lupus
Nick Cannon is back to working out in his personal gym to keep himself healthy and prevent, if not counter, the effects of lupus. The rapper-comedian even showed his fans a “hard” routine he is mastering as part of his “Lupus Warrior” workout.
On Thursday, Cannon took to Instagram to share a snap of him lifting kettlebells while balancing on top of a makeshift skateboard consisting of a board and dumbbells. Mariah Carey’s ex-husband poked fun at what he’s doing in the photo by writing in the caption “Trying to become a balanced individual.”
In a follow-up, Cannon uploaded a video clip to show his fans on the photo-sharing site just how “hard” the routine he was doing that day. He also implied in his caption that he is not giving up on mastering the routine despite its difficulty. “I’m going to keep working until it’s mine,” he insisted.

Due to the complexity of Cannon’s exercise routine, many fans were worried that he could hurt himself if he continues to do it. “It looks really hard. Be careful anyway,” one fan wrote. “You gonna end up in the hospital … Accidents kill … be careful,” another warned the former “America’s Got Talent” host.
Last weekend, Cannon introduced to his fans his “Lupus Warrior” workout. Based on the posts he’s shared so far, his self-made fitness program is very challenging. However, Cannon claims he likes doing the impossible to maintain his healthy condition.
Just last Tuesday, the father-of-three opened up about his condition to The Root saying, “I figure everybody’s got to deal with something, and I feel like what don’t kill you only makes you stronger.” He then added, “I feel like I’ve been blessed enough to wake up each and every day to be as strong as I possibly can. Any diagnosis and all of that stuff, I don’t subscribe to it.”
Aside from spending time in the gym, doing daddy duties when his twins with Carey are with him and engaging in a couple of working engagements, Cannon is busy preparing his new film with Birdman. “We’re getting ready to start this next one called ‘She Ball’ that Birdman and I are producing. It’s a basketball movie surrounding the inner city in Los Angeles, but the lead character is a female,” he recently said of the big screen project.
