The SportsXchange

The Tampa Bay Lightning fired coach Guy Boucher after a 5-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night, the team announced Sunday.

Assistants Martin Raymond and Dan Lacroix were set to serve as coaches for Sunday night's game against the Winnipeg Jets.

With a 13-17-1 record, the Lightning were next to last in the Eastern Conference standings after starting the lockout-shortened season 6-1. Tampa Bay had lost six of its past 10 games.

After general manager Steve Yzerman hired Boucher in 2010, the coach led the Lightning to the Eastern Conference finals in 2011. But Tampa Bay didn't make the playoffs last season and isn't likely to reach the postseason again this year.

--Dallas Stars captain Brenden Morrow waived his no-trade clause and agreed to a trade that will send him to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Dallas will send Morrow and a third-round pick in 2013 to Pittsburgh in exchange for prospect defenseman Joe Morrow and a fifth-round pick in 2013.

Brenden Morrow, 34, is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in July.

The Bruins had also shown interest in Brenden Morrow, multiple media outlets reported.

--New Jersey Devils winger Ilya Kovalchuk could miss two to four weeks with a shoulder injury, general manager Lou Lamoriello said Sunday.

Kovalchuk was hurt Saturday night against the Florida Panthers when he crashed into the end boards and came up holding the shoulder.

--The Anaheim Ducks have signed forward Radek Dvorak to a one-year, $675,000 contract, TSN reported.

Dvorak has seven points in seven games this season with Davos in the Switzerland's top league. He had 21 points in 73 games with the Dallas Stars last season.

He would have to clear waivers before joining the Ducks.

--The NHL will not levy any additional punishment on Nashville forward Rich Clune for his hit on Columbus' Artem Anisimov, the Tennessean reported.

Clune was assessed a five-minute major for interference and a game misconduct at the time.
