NHL roundup: Flyers send their top goal-scorer to minors

The Philadelphia Flyers sent Tye McGinn, the team's top goal-scorer this season, down to Adirondack of the AHL, the Flyers announced on Friday.

McGinn, 23, has three goals in just four games played. That may not seem like a lot, but the Flyers have scored just 13 goals all season.

McGinn was sent to the minors to make room for forward Scott Hartnell, who will return on Saturday after missing the past four games with an upper-body injury.

The Flyers chose to keep rookie Michael Raffl, who skated on the club's top line Thursday.

McGinn failed to record a shot in his last two games while playing on a line with Brayden Schenn and Jake Voracek.

--- Pittsburgh Penguins All-Star defenseman Kris Letang was scheduled to make his season debut Friday night against the New York Islanders.

Letang missed the Penguins' first nine games with a lower-body injury.

Letang had 38 points last season, which tied the Montreal Canadiens' P.K. Subban for most by an NHL defenseman.

--- The Chicago Blackhawks announced that they have recalled forward Jeremy Morin from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

The Blackhawks also agreed to terms with forward Brad Mills on a one-year contract and recalled him from the IceHogs.

The Blackhawks also placed defenseman Michael Kostka on Injured Reserve, retroactive to Oct. 22. He is sidelined with an upper-body injury.

---The Phoenix Coyotes put forward Lauri Korpikoski on injured reserve with an upper-body injury and called up Tim Kennedy from AHL Portland.

Korpikoski, 27, signed a four-year, $10 million extension in July.
