Oct 14 (The Sports Xchange) - The Dallas Stars placed forward Patrick Eaves on injured reserve Wednesday with a lower-body injury. Eaves suffered the injury in Tuesday night's 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. The Stars recalled forward Curtis McKenzie from the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League to fill Eaves' spot on the roster. - - The Calgary Flames recalled center Markus Granlund from Stockton of the American Hockey League and placed left winger Lance Bouma on injured reserve. Granlund had one goal and two assists in Stockton's season opener. The 22-year-old played in 48 games for the Flames last season and had eight goals and 10 assists. - - The Buffalo Sabres assigned defenseman Matt Donovan to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. Donovan was sent to the team's AHL affiliate after he cleared waivers. The three-year NHL veteran was a healthy scratch for Buffalo's first three games. He signed with the Sabres as a free agent in July. - - The New Jersey Devils assigned goaltender Yann Danis to Albany of the American Hockey League and recalled forward Reid Boucher from its AHL affiliate. Danis had been recalled under emergency conditions to dress as Keith Kinkaid's backup in Tuesday night's 3-1 loss against the Nashville Predators.
