Sept 26 (The Sports Xchange) - The Chicago Blackhawks assigned forwards Ryan Haggerty, Mark McNeill, Jeremy Morin and Corey Tropp and defenseman Ville Pokka to the AHL's Rockford IceHogs on Saturday. The Blackhawks also released forwards Chris DeSousa and Pierre-Cedric Labrie, defenseman Kirill Gotovets and goaltenders Mac Carruth and Mark Visentin. Chicago's roster is at 38, including 22 forwards, 13 defensemen and three goaltenders. - - - The Detroit Red Wings assigned forwards Martin Frk and Marek Tvrdon, defenseman Richard Nedomlel and goaltender Jake Paterson to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins. Detroit also released forwards Kurt Etchegary, Jeff Hoggan and Joel Rechlicz and defensemen Jared Nightingale, Nathan Paetsch and Andrew Prochno. The Red Wings roster is at 46 players, including 28 forwards, 14 defenseman and four goaltenders. - - - The St. Louis Blues assigned 14 players to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
