Feb 2 (The Sports Xchange) - After missing nearly half the season, rookie Connor McDavid was activated on Tuesday and expected to return to the ice with the Edmonton Oilers. To clear a spot on the roster, the Oilers sent winger Rob Klinkhammer to Bakersfield of the American Hockey League. McDavid suffered a broken left collarbone after a hard hit into the boards during a Nov. 3 game against Philadelphia and then had surgery to repair the damage. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft sat out 37 games while recovering. Klinkhammer has played in 14 games for the Oilers this season and has one goal. - - - As the Winnipeg Jets prepared to return from the NHL All-Star Game break, they activated forwards Adam Lowry and Mathieu Perreault from injured reserve and sent forward Matt Halischuk to Manitoba of the American Hockey League. Lowry (upper body) missed five games after he was placed on injured reserve Jan. 14. In 14 games for the Jets this season, he has three goals and seven assists. Perreault (lower body) was out for one game after being put on injured reserve Jan. 23. He has seven goals and 24 assists in 48 games this season. Halischuk's assignment to the AHL is pending waivers. He has played 13 games for the Jets this season after being called up Dec. 17. - - - The Philadelphia Flyers recalled goalie Anthony Stolarz from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The 22-year-old Stolarz, was recalled by the Flyers three times last year but has yet to appear in an NHL game. In 29 appearances with Lehigh, Stolarz has posted a 15-10-3 record with a 2.45 GAA and .915 save percentage. - - - The Chicago Blackhawks recalled defenseman Viktor Svedberg from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Svedberg, 24, made his NHL debut on Oct. 9 against the New York Islanders. He had one goal and one assist in 15 games with the Blackhawks before being sent back to the IceHogs on Nov. 12. The Gothenburg, Sweden, native has 10 points in 30 games with Rockford this year. - - - The Anaheim Ducks recalled left winger Harry Zolnierczyk from San Diego of the American Hockey League. Zolnierczyk, 28, was originally recalled by Anaheim on Nov. 6 but did not appear in that night's game against Columbus. He was reassigned to San Diego on Nov. 7. - - - The NHL announced that the Anaheim-Washington game that was canceled on Jan. 22 has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on April 10 at the Verizon Center. - - - The Philadelphia Flyers-New York Islanders game that was canceled by a severe winter storm in January was rescheduled by the NHL. The teams will meet Sunday, April 10, at 7 p.m. at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
