Nov 16 (The Sports Xchange) - The Detroit Red Wings signed defenseman Xavier Ouellet to a one-year contract extension Monday. Ouellet, 22, is in his third professional season and has appeared in 11 games for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League, recording one goal, two assists and six penalty minutes. - - The Dallas Stars reassigned forward Curtis McKenzie to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League. McKenzie, 24, appeared in one game for Dallas, suffering a lower-body injury in the Oct. 15 contest. - - The Calgary Flames assigned forward Derek Grant to the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League. Grant, 25, signed as a free agent on July 1 and has played in nine games for Calgary this season. - - The Washington Capitals recalled forward Stanislav Galiev from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League. Galiev, 23, has played in two games with the Capitals this season and earned his first NHL assist on Oct. 15. - - The Minnesota Wild recalled forward Brett Bulmer from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.
