NHL labor talks scheduled for Friday

The NHL and NHL players association opted not to meet Thursday as scheduled but agreed to meet Friday.

Friday's meeting will be held at the NHL offices in New York City.

Negotiations were scheduled for the entire week. Meetings were held Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss the proposals on the table, including the latest offer from the league to players that remains under consideration.

Though unconfirmed, it's expected the players will again present a counter to the NHL's proposed changes to the collective bargaining agreement. The current CBA expires on Sept. 15.

The standing offer from the NHL grants players 46 percent of "hockey related" revenue. Players have asked for a granular definition of that term.
