Red Wings 4, Senators 2
Daniel Alfredsson made his first return to Ottawa's Canadian Tire Centre after 18 years as a Senators player and scored a goal to lead his new team, the Red Wings, to the win.
Alfredsson had spent his entire career with Ottawa before signing a one-year deal to join Detroit in the offseason.
With his third period goal, the Wings (14-7-7) improved their winning streak to four games.
The loss was the third in four games for the Senators (10-13-4), who have lost four in a row at home.

Oilers 3, Stars 2 (Shootout)
Jordan Eberle also converted for the Oilers in the shootout while Dallas' lone goal in the shootout came from center Rich Peverley.
Dallas (12-9-4) got a pair of regulation goals from Ryan Garbutt but they blew a pair of leads to set up overtime and the shootout.
Edmonton's Andrew Ference sent the game into overtime with a game-tying goal at 14:53 in the third period.

Canucks 3, Hurricanes 2
Vancouver was coming off a 5-2 loss in which starting goalie Roberto Luongo was pulled in favor of Lack after allowing three goals in 10 shots against the New York Rangers.
In their second afternoon game in as many days, the Canucks (14-10-5) grabbed an early two-goal lead as Kesler broke out of a slump in which he had registered just one goal and four assists in 11 games. (Editing by Gene Cherry)
