NHL-Flyers bring in Berube as coach in place of Laviolette

Oct 7 (Reuters) - The Philadelphia Flyers have sacked coach Peter Laviolette and promoted assistant Craig Berube in his place after an 0-3 start to the season, the team said on Monday. Berube becomes the 18th full-time head coach in the history of the franchise. The Flyers also fired assistant coach Kevin McCarthy but Joe Mullen and Jeff Reese keep their jobs.
