NFL roundup: Rams QB Bradford suffers knee injury
St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford left Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers on a cart with an apparent knee injury.
Bradford landed hard on his knees near the sideline, when he was legally pushed to the ground by safety Mike Mitchell. Bradford was in bounds and Mitchell was not penalized on the play.
Offensive guard Harvey Dahl drew a flag for his retaliatory shove of Mitchell.
Kellen Clemens entered the game in the fourth quarter with the Rams trailing 30-15.
There was no immediate prognosis for Bradford, who will be evaluated further after the team returns to St. Louis.
Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Bradford was in "significant pain" on the sidelines.
---Houston Texans running back Arian Foster left Sunday's game in the first quarter with a hamstring injury and did not return.
Foster entered Week 6 as the AFC's top rusher. He carried four times for 11 yards on Houston's first possession before leaving the game.
---The Dallas Cowboys are projected to be at least $31 million over the 2014 salary cap, according to ESPN.
That would be more than $13 million more than the second-highest figure in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints.
The Cowboys will be forced to renegotiate contracts and cut players just to get under the 2014 cap.
---Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is expected to visit the NFL's headquarters following his latest fine of $31,500 for last week's hit against Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden, according to Fox Sports.
Suh will reportedly have the opportunity to explain why he does not deserve his latest fine. He was not penalized on the play.
---The San Francisco 49ers expect wide receiver Michael Crabtree back by late November, a source told ESPN.
Crabtree has been out since an offseason torn Achilles tendon injury. However, he is reportedly not expected to significantly contribute until the end of the regular season.
The 49ers could get wide receiver Mario Manningham back from a torn ACL next week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
---Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith was fined an undisclosed amount for calling referee Dan Ferrell "garbage" a day after an Oct. 6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, according to ESPN.com.
Smith claimed that Ferrell missed at least one pass interference call and would not give him the proper spot late in the third quarter of the game.
---Devin Hester's 81-yard punt return for a touchdown for the Chicago Bears against the Washington Redskins was his 19th return for a touchdown, tying him with Deion Sanders for first on the NFL's all-time list.
