NFL roundup: Raiders rule Pryor out vs. Texans

Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans due to a knee injury.

Coach Dennis Allen said Friday that Pryor had a setback Friday and the team officially ruled him out Saturday. Rookie Matt McGloin will make his first NFL start.

Pryor was injured during the Raiders' 24-20 loss to the New York Giants last Sunday.

McGloin completed seven of 15 passes for 87 yards for a 65.1 passer rating against the Philadelphia Eagles two weeks ago in his only action this season.

The Raiders promoted rookie quarterback Tyler Wilson from their practice squad. To make room for Wilson, the Raiders waived reserve defensive tackle Brian Sanford.

Wilson, the Raiders' fourth-round draft pick out of Arkansas earlier this year, will back up McGloin. Wilson completed 11 of 18 passes for 93 yards in the preseason.

---The Seattle Seahawks activated left tackle Russell Okung from the injured reserve/designated-to-return list and released third-string quarterback B.J. Daniels.

Okung, a Pro Bowl player last season, has been on IR since suffering a partially torn ligament in his left toe against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2.

The Seahawks also expect to get injured center Max Unger and right tackle Breno Giacomini back for their game Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

---Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace and center Mike Pouncey are expected to play Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, ESPN.com reported.

Both players are listed as questionable on the team's injury report.

Wallace is dealing with a hamstring injury. He was limited in practice Friday. He is second on the team with 40 catches for 495 yards with a touchdown.

Pouncey was not on the practice field Friday during the session the media was able to watch because of an illness.

---Jacksonville Jaguars middle linebacker Paul Posluszny will not play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals due to a concussion, the team announced.

Posluszny was listed as questionable on the team's injury report Friday. He was injured in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans.

The team ruled him out because he did not pass concussion tests.

Posluszny has a team-high 88 tackles, two interceptions, eight pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Outside linebacker Russell Allen, who has started 39 games over five seasons, will take Posluszny's place. Allen set career highs with 201 tackles and eight pass breakups last year. He has 40 tackles and two fumble recoveries this year.

Also, Jacksonville promoted defensive end Ryan Davis from the practice squad.

---The Chicago Bears promoted defensive end Cheta Ozougwu from the practice squad, the team announced.

The move was made after starting defensive end Shea McClellin was listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens with a hamstring injury.

To make room for Ozougwu on the roster, the Bears released linebacker Larry Grant.

---The San Francisco 49ers promoted tight end Derek Carrier to the active roster Saturday.

Starting tight end Vernon Davis is questionable for Sunday's game at the New Orleans Saints because of a concussion. He was a limited in practice during the week. Davis' backup, Garrett Celek, is doubtful with a hamstring injury.
