NFL roundup: Gronkowski out vs. Bengals
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski did not travel with the team to Cincinnati Saturday so he will not play Sunday against the Bengals, according to ESPN.
Gronkowski, who is recovering from multiple back and forearm injuries, has not played this season. He was listed on the team's injury report as questionable.
Wide receiver Danny Amendola, who is also listed as questionable with a groin injury, did travel with the team.
Amendola has missed the last three games. He said he had a "good practice" on Friday and is "looking forward to Sunday."
The Patriots are also without running back Stevan Ridley, who has a knee injury. Running backs Brandon Bolden (knee) and Leon Washington (thigh) practiced on a limited basis this week and are listed as questionable.
---Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson is out for Monday night's game against the New York Jets.
Falcons coach Mike Smith said Saturday that Jackson will miss his third straight game because of a hamstring injury. Jackson did not practice this week.
NFL.com initially reported that Jackson could miss two to four weeks, meaning he may return after the Falcons' bye next week.
Jason Snelling and Jacquizz Rodgers have carried the ball in Jackson's absence for the 1-3 Falcons.
---The Oakland Raiders are interested in former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The Buccaneers released Freeman on Thursday. Freeman is expected to decide sometime Sunday where he would like to play.
Freeman, who last year became the first quarterback in Bucs history to pass for 4,000 yards in a season, was benched and then declared inactive last week against the Arizona Cardinals after playing poorly in the first three games.
Rookie Mike Glennon made his debut in a 13-10 loss that dropped the team to 0-4.
The Buccaneers are eating more than $6 million in salary owed to Freeman. The Bucs reportedly tried to trade him but no team was interested.
---The Baltimore Ravens released wide receiver Brandon Stokley Saturday and re-signed tight end Billy Bajema.
The Ravens apparently did not have room for Stokley with receiver Jacoby Jones getting healthier, and Deonte Thompson and Marlon Brown showing improvement. Stokley had nine catches for 79 yards this season.
Bajema was released earlier in the week to make room on the roster for offensive lineman Eugene Monroe.
---The Jacksonville Jaguars officially added wide receiver Justin Blackmon to the active roster Saturday.
Blackmon, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2012 draft, recently returned to practice after a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse program.
To make room for Blackmon on the roster, the team cut guard Jacques McClendon.
The Jaguars face the St. Louis Rams Sunday.
---The New York Giants placed cornerback Aaron Ross on injured reserve Saturday because of a back injury and cut offensive lineman Dallas Reynolds.
Ross started the past two games and had an interception against the Carolina Panthers. He was previously ruled out for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Giants also promoted cornerback Charles James from the practice squad and placed safety Will Hill on the active roster.
Hill was reinstated by the NFL after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. He had 30 tackles and one forced fumble last season.
---The Buffalo Bills were scheduled to work out quarterback Pat White, NFL.com reported Saturday.
The Bills need a quarterback since starter EJ Manuel sprained his right knee during Thursday's 37-24 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
The only other quarterback on the Bills' active roster is rookie Jeff Tuel.
White was released by the Washington Redskins earlier this year. He was a second-round draft pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2009.
---The Miami Dolphins promoted rookie safety Jordan Kovacs from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
Miami may need Kovacs help on special teams with rookie safety Don Jones questionable for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens because of an elbow injury.
---The Seattle Seahawks released wide receiver Stephen Williams and added linebacker Bruce Irvin to the 53-man roster from roster exempt status, the team announced Saturday.
Williams signed with the Seahawks in January and played four games this season.
Seattle also released defensive tackle Sealver Siliga from the practice squad and signed defensive tackle D'Anthony Smith to replace him.
