Sept 24 (The Sports Xchange) - Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson broke his arm in two places in a single-car accident early Tuesday.

The team confirmed the accident in a statement. According to the Detroit Free Press, Burleson wrecked his vehicle when he became distracted by a pizza falling off the passenger seat.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer likely needs microfracture knee surgery and is expected to miss the rest of the season, owner Jerry Jones told KRLD radio on Tuesday.

Spencer, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on July 25 and was limited throughout training camp, said last week that he suffered a setback in his rehab as he was held out of the Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams.

When the Chicago Bears return to practice Wednesday, cornerback Charles Tillman might be a spectator. But when the Bears take the field Sunday at Ford Field in Detroit, coach Marc Trestman believes Tillman will be on the field to battle All-Pro wide receiver Calvin Johnson.

Tillman went out in the second half Sunday with groin tightness against Pittsburgh. Knee soreness kept him out of practice the previous week. Trestman said Tillman could have returned to the game if needed and expects him to be available for practice this week.

Roughly 12 hours after leaving Monday night's loss at the Denver Broncos with a concussion, Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor said he's feeling fine.

"Im ready to go," he tweeted. "I feel great by the way! Thanks for the concern ! Go Raiders!"

The Buffalo Bills re-signed defensive tackle Jay Ross on Tuesday, two weeks after he was originally released to fill the void created when Adam Carrington was placed on injured reserve with a torn quadriceps tendon.

The Kansas City Chiefs promoted guard Rishaw Johnson to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and waived linebacker Josh Martin, the team announced Tuesday.

The San Francisco 49ers elevated cornerback Darryl Morris to the 53-man active roster and added linebacker D'Aundre Reed to the practice squad, the team announced Tuesday.

The Miami Dolphins signed defensive tackle Marvin Austin and placed defensive tackle Vaughn Martin on injured reserve, the team announced Tuesday.

The Dolphins were without defensive tackle Paul Soliai last Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons and the acquisition of Austin signals that he could be out longer. Austin was one of several defensive tackles who had a tryout last week in Miami.

The Indianapolis Colts signed free agent defensive end Lawrence Guy and offensive tackle Xavier Nixon.

Nixon was signed off the practice squad of the Washington Redskins. To create room on the 53-man roster, the Colts waived wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers and running back Kerwynn Williams. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
