April 5 (The Sports Xchange) - NFL commissioner Roger Goodell kicked open the door on renewed discussions for playoff expansion in a town hall meeting with season ticket holders in Jacksonville. Goodell in recent years shared considerations to expand the regular season to 18 games and also stretching the playoff field by at least two teams. Even Goodell said he understands coaches and players who don't want to dilute the product. With additional playoff spots available, the chances to enter the final weeks of the regular season having most or all postseason positions determined would increase. That means a possible ratings hit with teams locked into a playoff spot resting stars. Goodell told Jaguars' season ticket holders the discussion and decision will be tough. - - Defensive lineman Derek Wolfe of the Denver Broncos met with team decision-makers to discuss a video that appears to show the highly paid interior lineman punching a Denver nightclub patron. The deal is worth an estimated $10 million for 10 games, according to multiple reports. - - A domestic violence case involving Johnny Manziel is expected to handed over to a new grand jury in Dallas County. The Dallas police department completed its investigation of the case in February and turned it over to a grand jury, but the term ended last week. Manziel was released last month by the Cleveland Browns after two seasons. He's currently an unsigned free agent. Manziel, 23, is accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend. - - Tampa Bay safety Bradley McDougald signed his restricted free agent tender, the club announced. McDougald, 25, started 15 games last season and had 87 tackles and two interceptions. DePaola, 28, has played in 32 games and recorded eight special teams tackles over the past two seasons. - - The Buffalo Bills signed cornerback Sterling Moore to a one-year deal. Moore, 26, has four interceptions and five forced fumbles in 56 career NFL games over five seasons. - - Cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu was claimed on waivers by the Miami Dolphins. Ekpre-Olomu was placed on waivers by the Cleveland Browns on Monday. He was a seventh-round draft pick in 2015 out of Oregon but due to a season-ending knee injury suffered during bowl game practice in December as a senior with the Ducks, he never suited up for Cleveland and spent the entire year rehabbing. - - The New York Giants added fullback Will Johnson and offensive linemen Ryan Seymour and Dillon Farrell to the roster, the team announced.
