Dec 23 (Reuters) - The Green Bay Packers had no update on quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Monday, but coach Mike McCarthy said the club plan to announce a decision on his status earlier than in past weeks. The last two weeks, the Packers waited until Friday to announce that Matt Flynn would be the starting quarterback. "Aaron Rodgers? Hopefully, we can get the question answered sooner than later," McCarthy said Monday on the team's website. "Aaron wants to play. He fully accepts and understands everything that is going on with his injury. This is clearly a decision for (general manager) Ted Thompson and I. I think it's important for us to make a quicker decision." Rodgers has not played since breaking his collarbone on Nov. 4. - - - Dallas Cowboys starting middle linebacker Sean Lee has not been cleared by doctors to play as of Monday, a sign that his season could be over. Lee has missed the last two games with a sprained neck. A source told ESPN that he is doubtful to play this Sunday's regular-season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles, in which the winner will emerge as NFC East champions. In 11 games this season, Lee has 99 tackles, four interceptions and six pass breakups. - - - New Orleans Saints rookie safety Kenny Vaccaro is scheduled to have surgery Tuesday to repair a broken ankle and is out for the season. Saints coach Sean Payton said Monday an MRI revealed a clean break. Vaccaro was injured Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Vacarro had 79 tackles, seven pass breakups, a sack, an interception and a forced fumble in 14 games played for the (10-5) Saints, who could still win the NFC South with a win over Tampa Bay and a Carolina Panthers loss against Atlanta. - - - Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Monday that Terrelle Pryor will be the Raiders' starting quarterback for their regular-season finale against the Denver Broncos, who are trying to secure top-seeding in the AFC. Pryor began the season as the Raiders' starting quarterback, but was replaced by Matt McGloin, who started the last six games for Oakland. Pryor has completed 57.7 percent of his passes for 1,591 yards, with five touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
