Dec 15 (The Sports Xchange) - Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger believes Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict intended to hurt him with a low hit during Sunday's game in Cincinnati. Burfict dived at Roethlisberger's ankles after a pass left his hand during the first half of the Steelers' 33-20 win. Burfict later told Roethlisberger that he was pushed into him. "I don't buy that he was pushed," said Roethlisberger, who watched the play on tape after the game. "He definitely was diving in low and going for my legs. It's tough. I am just glad I didn't get hurt." - - The Seattle Seahawks continued to shuffle their injury-riddled backfield, officially re-signing Bryce Brown and placing undrafted rookie Thomas Rawls on injured reserve. Brown was expected to figure into the mix against the Cleveland Browns this Sunday, but his role could be larger than expected with DuJuan Harris released. - - A revised stadium construction plan in St. Louis calls for the NFL to contribute $300 million toward the $1 billion riverfront project. The St. Louis Rams are one of three franchises being considered for relocation to the Los Angeles area. Rams owner Stan Kroenke has progressed in a plan to build a stadium in California. - - Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said as long as Dallas is mathematically alive for the postseason, no players are being shut down and that includes wide receiver Dez Bryant, who appears to still be favoring his surgically repaired foot. The Cowboys play the New York Jets on Sunday. "Shut him down? No," Jones told 105.3 FM in Dallas. "I hope their defense doesn't shut him down early, but no, not at all." - - Move over Matt Schaub and Jimmy Clausen, make room for Ryan Mallett. The Baltimore Ravens signed another former starting quarterback, bringing Mallett aboard for the final three weeks of the regular season. - - For the first time in four weeks, Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak opted not to use his Monday press conference to declare Brock Osweiler the starting quarterback for the next game. Kubiak instead wants time to discuss the decision with the key parties, including vice president John Elway and Peyton Manning, who might be back in the starting lineup this week, but health will be a major factor. - - Andrew Luck was cleared to ramp up throwing on Monday, but ESPN reported the Indianapolis Colts doubt he will play again in 2015. According to the report, only in the best-case scenario would Luck play in the postseason if the Colts reach the playoffs. - - Defensive lineman Da'Quan Bowers re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bowers took the roster spot of defensive end Josh Shirley, who was waived. - - The Miami Dolphins claimed defensive end Damontre Moore off waivers from the New York Giants and waived center-guard Jacques McClendon. Moore spent three seasons with the Giants before he was waived Friday. - - The Carolina Panthers placed cornerback Bene Benwikere on injured reserve and signed cornerback Robert McClain. Benwikere sustained a fractured leg during the fourth quarter of the Panthers' 38-0 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. He had made four straight starts at left corner in place of injured Charles Tillman (knee). - - The Atlanta Falcons placed safety Wiliam Moore on injured reserve and waived wide receiver Leonard Hankerson. - - Rookie wide receiver Kevin White's season officially ended when the Chicago Bears announced that its top draft pick in 2015 will remain on injured reserve/physically unable to perform. White suffered a leg injury and had surgery during the summer. He has yet to play in a game for the Bears. - - The Indianapolis Colts signed free agent linebacker Andy Studebaker, placed rookie running back Josh Robinson on the practice squad injured reserve and waived guard Todd Herremans and inside linebacker Amarlo Herrera. - - The Cleveland Browns placed wide receiver Brian Hartline on injured reserve after he underwent surgery on a broken left collarbone and signed veteran defensive back Daryl Richardson. Hartline, who joined the Browns as a free agent during the offseason, suffered the injury during the second half of the Browns' 24-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
