UNLV will introduce Bobby Hauck as its next head football coach Wednesday, according to published reports.
Hauck led Montana to an 80-17 record over the past seven seasons and three FCS title game appearances.
Pease to interview with ASU
Boise State assistant head coach/receivers Brent Pease will interview for the Arizona State offensive coordinator job, Rivals.com has learned. Pease will talk to Sun Devils coach Dennis Erickson while Boise State is in the Phoenix area for the Fiesta Bowl.
Erickson is expected to have a new coordinator in place by mid-January to take the place of Rich Olson, who was fired after this season. Arizona State's offense ranked ninth in the Pac-10 and 91st in the nation (334.4 ypg) during a 4-8 season.
Eric Price, who most recently was a receivers coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, also has interviewed. Price served as offensive coordinator at UTEP for his father, Mike. Others who have interviewed are ex-Kansas offensive coordinator Ed Warinner, Detroit Lions tight ends coach Tim Lappano and former Akron coach J.D. Brookhart.
FSU courts Hudson
East Carolina defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Greg Hudson is mulling an offer to move to Florida State as linebackers coach.
Hudson's East Carolina defense ranked No. 2 in Conference USA in 2009, helping the Pirates (9-4) win the league title for a second consecutive season.
Florida State is overhauling its defensive staff as Jimbo Fisher prepares to take over as head coach in 2010. The Seminoles have tabbed Mark Stoops from Arizona to serve as defensive coordinator but still need to fill out the staff around him.
