Nets void the contract of Hamady N'Diaye due to failed physical

Coming off such a great showing by Senegal in the FIBA World Cup, Hamady N'Diaye had a little bit of buzz surrounding his name. In limited minutes for Senegal, the center had a nice presence on the boards and around the rim, grabbing rebounds and blocking shots. It was enough for the Brooklyn Nets to jump on board with signing him for some depth inside.

However, his deal with the Nets only lasted two days, after his contract was voided on Friday.

The Nets have announced the voiding of N'Diaye's contract after he failed his team physical. There wasn't a guarantee of N'Diaye making the roster with the Nets sitting at 17 players with his signing, but with his athleticism, size -- and the need for big man depth in this league -- he had a solid shot of finding his way onto the roster.

Brooklyn Nets General Manager Billy King announced today that the team has voided the contract of Hamady Ndiaye due to Ndiaye failing the required physical.  Ndiaye was signed by the Nets on September 17th. The roster now stands at 16 players.

N'Diaye entered the league in 2010. He was drafted with the 56th pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves, then was immediately traded to the Washington Wizards in a deal that swapped Lazar Hayward and Trevor Booker.

He spent two seasons with the Wizards then played the 2012-13 season in China. Last year, he played in 14 games with the Sacramento Kings. In three seasons total, he's played 33 games and logged just 157 minutes.
