Nene Hilario scored 30 points to lead the Washington Wizards to a close victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, 94-93. Washington (27-28) has now won back-to-back games after defeating Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.
Hilario went 13-19 from the field, in a solid performance. Other top performers for Washington were Marcin Gortat with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and John Wall with 10 points and 12 assists. Anthony Davis had another strong performance for New Orleans despite the loss, scoring 26 points on 11-18 shooting from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line. He also tallied 11 rebounds.
New Orleans (23-32) has now dropped their last three in a row.
Coming up, the Wizards play the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are 22-34 on the season. The Pelicans match up with the Los Angeles Clippers, currently sitting at 37-20 this year. The Wizards have lost two of their last three meetings with Cleveland. The Pelicans are 0-1 versus Los Angeles this season.
