Carter rarely missed in leading the hot-shooting Mavericks, hitting 7 of 9 shots from the field, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and was 5 of 5 from the line. Nebraska-Omaha shot 53.3 percent (32 of 60) for the game. John Karhoff contributed 16 points, Justin Simmons 12 and Marcus Tyus 11.

The Mavericks (2-1) built their 30-point lead in the first half, taking a 57-27 lead at intermission.

Fred Chatmon came off the Kangaroos' bench to lead all scorers with a 23-point effort.

First-year UMKC coach Kareem Richardson, an assistant to Rick Petino on last year's NCAA championship team at Louisville, is winless in his first three games leading the Kangaroos.
