Mike Valenti of 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit joins the Dan Wetzel Football Podcast to discuss the upcoming Michigan-Michigan State game in particular and college football in general.
Valenti is an MSU alum and unabashed fan of the Spartans, but there was an attempt to keep him on the rails here, although he noted that the way State plays (physical and consistent) is the way Michigan wishes it could play.
Other topics include whether Brady Hoke still has something to prove as a game coach, the state of the Big Ten, how more aggressive scheduling is needed across the sport, but particularly in conference as it mindlessly expands, and why it's frustrating to root for a team that is outside of the traditional media power structure. Plus, we figure out the BCS title game hopes and reality of Ohio State. Namely, how many one-loss teams would remain ahead of the unbeaten Buckeyes.
Jameis Winston, Art Briles, Bret Bielema, Nick Saban, Al Golden, Johnny Manziel, Notre Dame, Ed Orgeron, Auburn and a bunch of other names, teams and topics also merited at least a mention or two.
Four games get predicted: Michigan-MSU (minus-4.5), Miami-FSU (minus-21.5), Oklahoma State-Texas Tech (minus-2.5) and Auburn-Arkansas (plus-9).
