NBA roundup: Warriors' Bogut out indefinitely

The SportsXchange

Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut has a protruding disk in his back and remains out indefinitely.

The Bay Area News Group reported the results of Bogut's MRI on Sunday. The disc protrusion caused Bogut's back spasms. He will not play in Sunday's game at the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Bogut stayed home to get treatment instead of traveling with the team. Depending on how he recovers, he could join the team on its five-game road trip.

Bogut is averaging 7.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 12 games this season.

---Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson was scheduled to miss Sunday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies because he has plantar fasciitis.

He also missed Friday's game against the Houston Rockets because of the ailment. Johnson's injury flared up during Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. It is not clear when Johnson will return.

---Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban told ESPN Dallas he was just being hypothetical when he made recent comments suggesting that the Los Angeles Lakers should amnesty Kobe Bryant next season.

"Any time you try to explain the CBA, it's hard to do without giving an example," Cuban said.

The Lakers released a statement Friday saying they were not happy about Cuban's comments, which he made earlier that day in a radio interview.
