An MRI confirmed that San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker has a Grade 2 ankle sprain and will miss approximately, while NBA veteran Juwan Howard is both back in the league and with the Miami Heat.
First, Parker was driving for a layup 4 minutes into the third quarter of Friday night's game against the visiting Sacramento Kings and landed awkwardly on his left ankle. He was helped off the court by teammates.
After the 130-102 win, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said that Parker would be "out a while." He scored 13 points and had seven assists in just over 25 minutes.
Parker closed out February averaging 26.1 points and 8.3 assists and shooting 54 percent from the field. For the season, Parker is averaging 21.0 points, 7.6 assists and is shooting 53.3 percent.
As for Howard, he's back with the the Miami Heat, having signed a 10-day contract.
Howard, an 18-year veteran, has averaged 13.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 30.5 minutes while shooting 46.9 percent from the field.
He spent the past two seasons with the Heat, averaging 2.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 9.2 minutes while shooting 40 percent from the field. He also played in 11 playoff games during the Heat's championship run last year.

Amundson, 30, played 20 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier this season. He has also played with the Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors and Indiana Pacers during his career.
---The Cleveland Cavaliers announced Saturday that they assigned forward Kevin Jones to the Canton Charge of the NBA D-League, a day after recalling him. Jones has played in eight games for the Charge this season, averaging 23.1 points and 12.1 rebounds in 39.8 minutes per game. He has six double-doubles for the Charge this season. He has appeared in 19 games for the Cavaliers this season and is averaging 2.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in 9.0 minutes per game.
