NBA roundup: Nets' Lopez likely out for season

Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez is likely finished for the season with a broken foot, according to reports.

Lopez broke his right foot, the same one that was surgically repaired from a fracture in 2011.

It is believed that he sustained the injury during the second half of Friday night's overtime loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. Lopez played through the injury, clocking 44 minutes and finishing with 22 points on 9-of-19 shooting and seven rebounds.

The injury was revealed when Lopez underwent X-rays after the game.

It was the latest of several injuries the 9-17 Nets have had this season. Point guard Deron Williams, forward Paul Pierce, forward Andrei Kirilenko and guard Jason Terry are among the Nets who have missed time to injuries this season.

Lopez's injury is a big loss for the Nets as he is averaging 20.7 points and six rebounds per game. Veteran Kevin Garnett will likely start at center and power forward/center Andray Blatche will get more minutes.

---Chicago Bulls small forward Luol Deng will not be in the lineup for Saturday night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a sore left Achilles tendon.

Deng will miss his second straight game. He is averaging 19.6 points per game.

Forward Jimmy Butler (11.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game) is also out with a sprained right ankle. He sustained the injury Thursday at the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Guard Kirk Hinrich (8.6 points, 5.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds per game) is a game-time decision with a back injury. He has missed the past four games.

---Charlotte Bobcats forward Jeffery Taylor is expected to miss the rest of the season after an MRI on Saturday revealed a ruptured right Achilles tendon, the team announced.

Taylor was injured in the opening minute of Friday night's game at the Detroit Pistons.

Taylor expects to meet with foot specialist Dr. Bob Anderson within a few days for more specifics.

In 26 games, including eight starts, Taylor averaged 8.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 24.2 minutes this season.

---The Golden State Warriors recalled guard Nemanja Nedovic from the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA D-League, the team announced Saturday.

Nedovic will be available for Saturday night's game against the visiting Los Angeles Lakers.

The rookie had 29 points, six assists, three rebounds and two steals in 42 minutes for Santa Cruz in a 123-108 loss at Bakersfield on Friday night.
