NBA roundup: Miami's Bosh could return for Game 5

Chris Bosh could be back with the Miami Heart for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Unless Bosh suffers a setback in workouts leading up Tuesday night's game against the Boston Celtics, the Heat hope to activate the All-Star, ESPN.com reported.

Bosh has missed nine playoff games since he suffered an abdominal strain in the opener of an Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Indiana Pacers. At the time, the team indicated that it was optimistic he could return for the NBA Finals should Miami advance.

Bosh and the team would not comment on his availability for Tuesday night after the Heat's 93-91 overtime loss Sunday night in Boston that tied the series at 2-2.

For the past week, Bosh has been working out on the court. He joined teammates on the floor during practices while the series was in Boston.

Bosh would be a welcome addition to the Heat, which has used three starting centers with Bosh sidelined and had difficulty containing Boston's Kevin Garnett.

---The Washington Wizards apparently saw enough progress at the end of the season to stick with Randy Wittman as their coach.

Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld announced Monday that Randy Wittman, who replaced Flip Saunders on Jan. 24, will return. Terms of the contract weren't released.

Wittman guided Washington to an 18-31 record and a strong finish. The Wizards won eight of their final 10 games. He took over after the team's abysmal 2-15 start under Saunders.

---Sunday's Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals between Miami and Boston on ESPN had a 7.9 overnight rating. ESPN officials said that is an increase of 39 percent from Game 4 of the 2011 Western Conference finals on ESPN between the Mavericks and Thunder. In Boston, the game had a 20.7 rating, which is the highest on cable for an NBA playoff game in Boston since records began being kept in 2003.
