NBA roundup: Clippers reportedly trying to obtain Garnett

The Los Angeles Clippers are trying to get Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett in a trade, according to the Sporting News.

The Clippers, chasing an NBA title, are reportedly offering swingman Caron Butler and point guard Eric Bledsoe. The Celtics need help in those areas with Rajon Rondo (knee) and Jared Sullinger (back) out for the season.

Bledsoe is averaging nine points, three rebounds and three assists per game backing up Chris Paul. Butler averages 9.8 points.

Garnett is scoring 14.9 points and getting 7.3 rebounds a game for Boston. However, he has a no-trade clause and may have to come off the bench if he came to the Clippers.

---An MRI on the knee of San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan revealed no structural damage, and he is being listed as day-to-day, according to Yahoo! Sports.

He is still expected to miss a few games, but the injury appeared it might be more serious when it occurred Saturday. It is being called a sprained knee.

---Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard missed Sunday's game against the host Detroit Pistons because if his sore right shoulder.

Howard also missed Friday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He went back to Los Angeles to receive platelet-rich plasma treatments but returned to the team Sunday. The Lakers hope he can play sometime this week.
