July 3 (The Sports Xchange) - The Kevin Durant sweepstakes winner could be announced no later than Monday. According to ESPN league sources, Durant has told the clubs he is meeting that his free-agency decision will be made late Sunday night or early Monday. Durant, the most coveted player available this offseason, has met with six teams over the past three days -- Oklahoma City, Golden State, San Antonio, Boston and the Los Angeles Clippers. His final meeting was Sunday with the Miami Heat. Durant has played the first nine years of his career with the Thunder, who have requested another meeting with Durant after he sits down with Miami. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound Durant, a seven-time All Star, has averaged 27.4 points per game over his NBA career, and was named the league's MVP following the 2013-14 season. - - - Veteran guard Manu Ginobili announced he will return for his 15th NBA season and it is expected that he will re-sign with the San Antonio Spurs. Ginobili, who turns 39 on July 28, revealed his intentions to continue playing on his website. Ginobili averaged 9.6 points in 58 contests, a drop from his career average of 14.0. Ginobili recently declined a $2.9 million player option for next season. He has played his entire career with the Spurs. - - - The Dallas Mavericks want to sign restricted free agent Harrison Barnes to a four-year, $95 million max contract, according to reports. Sources told ESPN that the Mavericks have committed to Barnes with the max contract, which can be finalized July 7 when a league-wide moratorium is lifted on signings and trades. The Golden State Warriors would have three days to match any offer sheet Barnes signs. Barnes, 24, averaged a career-high 11.7 points in the 2015-16 season, as well as 12.5 points through the first four games of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, only to score just 15 total points over the final three contests. - - - The Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly owe an NBA-high $54 million in luxury taxes for their championship season. According to ESPN league sources, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert will be required to pay NBA before the end of the month. ESPN reported that the league established a $94.1 million salary cap for the 2016-17 campaign on Saturday and also confirmed that seven teams went over the $84.7 million tax threshold for the 2015-16 season. Johnson can't officially sign the offer sheet until July 7.
