Lamar Odom working out in Rhode Island to prepare for NBA comeback

As his NBA comeback bid gathers momentum, troubled free agent Lamar Odom has traveled to Rhode Island to work out with renowned superstar trainer, Rob McClanaghan, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Odom recently met with Los Angeles Clippers officials to discuss a possible third stop with the franchise, and is working out daily with McClanaghan in the Ryan Center on campus in Kingston, R.I. The Rhode Island basketball team is on the road in Arizona for the Preseason NIT.

Odom's professional and personal life had hit significant turbulence in recent years, spiraling with arrests and bouts with substance addiction.

McClanaghan has several superstar clients, including Chicago's Derrick Rose, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant, Minnesota's Kevin Love and Golden State's Stephen Curry. McClanaghan lives in Rhode Island.

Odom, 34, was arrested on a DUI charge in August in Los Angeles, and his tumultuous marriage to reality TV star, Khloe Kardashian, has made him a staple of tabloid news.

Odom posed for pictures on campus with students and staff on Monday. He played one year of basketball at the University of Rhode Island in the 1998-99 season.
